As a fine Artist, I see the painting of the human form as the ultimate challenge of Artistic expression, and have always been a great admirer of the works of Gustav Klimt and Lucian Freud.

My work can be found in the Jane Austen Centre in the centre of Bath, England, and in private collections throughout the world. My philosophy on painting is that no task is too hard to accomplish, and I see the blank canvas as an exciting challenge.

There is no challenge yet which I've seen as insurmountable. The blank canvas to me, is a place on which to portray a record of modern life in a way in which many can find both challenging and exciting at the same time. My work is influenced, not only by the masters of the pre-raphaelite era, but by those Artists from a more modern era who dedicate themselves to painting for posterity.

‘So many modern Artists do not think of those who may wish to admire Artworks in years to come.’

My preparatory work in the treatment of the surface of the canvas before layers of paint are applied are considered of the greatest importance to me. The finest oils are used in all finished works. These colours are applied to a canvas which has been carefully treated with more than one coat of primer. This is done so that years later the painting will appreciate in quality rather than fade with time.

My Artworks are available to buy, and I accept commissions by contacting me directly through e-mail or by phone.
